I am a preschool teacher of 9 years, having begun my career in 2017. Working with young children has shaped my deep sense of empathy, patience, and advocacy, values that guide both my personal and professional life.
I am a proud dog mom to Rex, Luna, and Sugar, an Army’s Legacy alumna, and I forever hold space in my heart for Charlie, who passed away in 2023. My love for animals began early, with my childhood dog, Mambo, whom I loved with everything I had and who taught me what unconditional love truly looks like.
My passion for helping animals is deeply rooted in my family. In Hawai‘i, my dad regularly fostered and rehomed stray dogs, and my grandfather ran a farm in the Philippines where animals were rescued, rehabilitated, and cared for until they found their forever homes. Our family home was always full, often with 5 or more dogs at a time, and those dogs shaped some of my most meaningful childhood memories.
Volunteering in rescue was not a decision I made lightly. I believe that choosing to step in matters, because if I do not help, that is one less person advocating for animals who cannot speak for themselves.
I love volunteering because it allows me to be part of something larger than myself. I am especially passionate about supporting dogs who have been overlooked, helping families find the right match, and contributing behind the scenes to strengthen the mission of the rescue. Serving on the board is both an honor and a responsibility that I carry with deep gratitude and heart.
